Device requirements
The app targets iOS 27 or later and iPadOS 27 or later. An App Store listing is not available yet; check its final compatibility details before purchasing when released. There is no Android or Google Wallet version currently offered.
What works offline
Create and edit locally saved cards, select available photos, adjust appearance, display a contact QR, and generate contact or card-image exports. Your chosen sharing destination may need connectivity. Opening a website QR requires access to that website.
Person cutouts
Background removal uses Apple Vision on the device. It does not require a remote AI account or send the selected image to a model provider. It depends on successful person detection and processing, and can fail on difficult photos. Physical iPhone quality testing remains part of development; simulator screens are not proof of device inference quality.
Wallet and receiving devices
Wallet creation requires a configured HTTPS signing service and Apple Wallet support. The release candidate connects to wallet.brieflyos.com. Physical-device Wallet testing remains in progress. Wallet controls the final card layout. Contact QR behavior varies by scanner; sharing a .vcf file is an alternative when a receiving device does not offer contact import.
